Texte Damien Zammit, A hardware security expert says that the recent Intel x86 CPUs contain a secret subsystem that runs as a hidden CPU inside your CPU. This CPU can not be disabled and nobody was able to review the closed proprietary code inside it. This system is called the Intel Management Engine (ME) and is literally embedded inside the x86 chipsets, where it runs its own secret firmware. Intel says ME was designed to be used for Active Management Technology (AMT) which allows big enterprises to manage their computers remotely .
